About
My academic interests fall under gender (specifically, masculinity), personal experience narrative, bodylore, foodways, and dance/movement. I also have a strong interest in applied folklore and pedagogy.
My PhD research examines how fathers who work offshore in Newfoundland perform fatherhood via family traditions of ritual and play. Other things I am (or have) worked on include the processes of embodiment and transformation among adult learners of ballet, gender and play among Zumba enthusiasts, and cultural sustainability in western Nova Scotia.
